Niederauer

I am Maximillian Niederauer master winemaker and graduate in viticulture & oenology

Niederauer represents a new generation of winemaking in the Palatinate – rooted in Freinsheim. In 1988, my parents founded our winery here, then under the name “Altes Landhaus”. I grew up among vineyard rows, barrels and harvest seasons. In our family, wine was never just a profession.
It was everyday life. Passion. Responsibility.

From an early age, I knew my path would continue here – not out of obligation, but out of conviction.

In 2025, I took over the estate and repositioned it under the name Niederauer. With respect for what has grown over time, and with a clear personal signature.

Single-Vineyard Wines

The pinnacle of our quality pyramid. These wines originate from distinctive vineyard sites with unique soil compositions and microclimates. Carefully yield-reduced, selectively hand-harvested and patiently matured, they result in wines that express a clear sense of origin, remarkable complexity and outstanding ageing potential.

Almost exclusively matured in small and large oak barrels.
 Wild-yeast fermented.

Quality begins in the soil.

Our vineyards are located around Freinsheim – in sites such as Oschelskopf, Goldberg and Musikantenbuckel.

Living soils are the foundation of vibrant wines. That is why we work close to nature –with diverse cover crops, conscious humus building and extensive manual work. Yield is not our goal. Balance is. We work with nature, not against it. We harvest selectively. And reduce yields with intention.
